Some ways to understand the quality of garment products
1. Fabric Quality Testing
Pull some fabric into the palm of your hand and freeze it firmly between your fists for a few minutes. If the fabric looks like crumpled paper afterwards, it means finishing it with special chemicals. After the first wash, the quality of such clothes will deteriorate.
2. Checking the gaps inside the Seam
Take out a part where two parts of the garment are stitched together, such as the sleeve, then try to separate one part from the other part by pulling lightly. If the stitches are tight, then the quality is good, and if the stitches are wrinkled under tension, then the quality is not good. Good products will have thick stitches that won’t shrink or ripple under tension.
3. Avoid open zippers
During the check you will see that all zippers are made of metal and have a cover on top, metal zippers are used on good quality fabrics, all zippers are made of plastic, and garments with zippers are not of good quality.
4. The size of the hem should not be small
Hems for pants and skirts should generally be 4cm, shirts should be 2cm, less than this or no hem will be considered a lower quality product.
5. Check for a tug or elasticity in the fabric
Stress the fabric of the garment product you buy as shown in the picture and leave it again and observe whether the fabric returns to its original shape or becomes loose, if the fabric becomes loose, it is definitely a poor-quality product.
6. Zipper Matching:
A good quality garment product will match the length, color, height and overall fabric of the zipper.
7. Check the composition on the label
Natural fibers are more durable than cotton, silk and wool synthetics. However, 100% cotton shrinks quickly after washing. Therefore, the fabric can be made with an addition (5-30%) of synthetic fibers (viscose, polyester, nylon, etc.). These clothes will not stretch and you can read many days.
8. Check that the seams and threads match
If the fabric grain line or alignment and thread color test does not match the pattern and if the color of the swing thread does not match the color of the fabric, then it must be assumed that the swing was done too quickly and they did not care about the quality.
9. Button Hole Check
When manufacturers make fake products of lower quality, they don’t concentrate on many small things including buttons and button holes. Poor finish and stitching quality of buttons, button holes mean poor garment quality.
10. Part by part shedding
Match the body parts of the garment with one part of the fabric, note whether there is a shade deep light and check the matching of the accessories with the fabric.
